Erdoğan: Increasing The TRNC’s International Recognition Is Among Our Document’s Goals
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that increasing the international recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is among the objectives set out in the “Vision Document for the Turkic World” prepared by the AK Party.
The document was unveiled at a presentation event held at the AK Party headquarters with Erdoğan in attendance, organised by the party’s Presidency for Relations with the Turkic World.
Speaking at the event, Erdoğan said the vision document includes goals such as strengthening the institutional capacity of the Organisation of Turkic States, establishing joint foreign policy mechanisms, and enhancing the international recognition of the TRNC. He also stressed that creating financial mechanisms is vital to ensuring sustainable regional integration.
The foreword of the Vision Document was written by Erdoğan himself. In it, he noted that the Organisation of Turkic States has, in recent years, transformed the search for a shared direction into a concrete programme, becoming a structure that prioritises regional stability and steadily increases its influence in global politics.
“The development of the organisation’s institutional structure strengthens our hopes for the future of the Turkic World and provides the necessary foundation for building a shared civilisational vision,” Erdoğan wrote, adding that the TRNC’s participation in the organisation with observer status is one of the clearest signs of this expanding vision.
Erdoğan also underlined that developments both globally and in the region require Turkic states to come together around stronger ties, closer cooperation and a broader vision. “This reality invites us to a new journey nourished by the roots of our shared history,” he said.
