2025-2026 School Year in Northern Cyprus to Begin on Monday

The 2025-2026 academic year in Northern Cyprus will start on Monday, September 15, with approximately 58,000 students and 6,500 teachers returning to classrooms after the three-month summer break. The mid-year break is scheduled for February 1–15, 2026, and the second semester will begin on February 16, 2026.

Academic Calendar:

The first semester will end on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Students and teachers will observe the mid-year break from February 1–15.

The second semester starts on Monday, February 16, and the academic year will conclude on Monday, June 15, 2026, with the distribution of report cards and completion certificates.
College and High School Exams:

The College Entrance Exam (KGS) first stage (KGS-1) will be held on January 31, 2026, and the second stage (KGS-2) on June 6, 2026.

The Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School (BEAL) and 20 Temmuz Science High School placement exams are scheduled for June 20, 2026.

Vocational high school program applications will be accepted from June 17–23, with results announced on June 24.

The Nicosia Anatolian Fine Arts High School entrance exam will take place from June 24–26, 2026.
Teachers, Students, and Schools:

A total of 6,500 teachers will serve in public and private schools.

The Primary Education Department oversees 132 schools with approximately 28,000 students.

The General Secondary Education Department manages 49 schools with around 25,000 students.

The Vocational Technical Education Department has 13 schools with roughly 4,000 students.

Additionally, the Apprenticeship and Adult Education Centers will serve around 700 students.
